What is Cognitive Hypnotherapy?
Cognitive hypnotherapy first and foremost, is a way of thinking, more than a specific letter by letter therapy. Not everything works on everyone, and we certainly don’t believe in labelling people. This is because people put more emphasis on a particular area of their issue e.g. their anxiety or fear and that’s why people with the same issue do not react to the same treatment.

Hello, my name is Josh.
I'm a former chef with 15 years’ experience working in many forms of hospitality ranging from fine dining to banqueting, pop ups and private members clubs. I started as an apprentice at the OXO Tower before making my way up the ladder into kitchens such as Marcus Wareing at the Gilbert Scott and the private members club, Bucks, where in 1921 the Bucks Fizz was created. I’m an Essex boy who gained his passport and moved to Borehamwood when I got married in 2021.
I've had my own struggles with depression, anxiety as well as having to work long hours dealing with Crohn’s disease. I know what it's like to be taken over with fears of self-doubt, as well as feeling alone and unworthy. Therefore, my own personal experience is the sole reason why I've chosen this path. It's given me my purpose and drive back. It’s enabled me to change my mentality and make me see that we all have something to offer. I'm eager to assist with all of this and more, passing on what I can to as many willing people out there. The fact you’re reading this shows you’re willing.
I trained at Quest Institute in Regents Park, deemed one of the most demanding hypnotherapy training schools in the UK. I’ve had to complete extensive coursework, and case studies as well as undertake many hours of practical sessions in order to be where I am today. Quest is run by the founder, Trevor Silvester, who, alongside Sarah Ariss, have been and still are great mentors in giving me the tools needed to enable me to give you the best treatment possible.
